We’ll have to wait until April, but we’re very excited to see Spencer Lord ( @spennylord ) as ‘Owen’ in Season 2 of The Last of Us.
From @entertainmentweekly:
The Last of Us season 2 ‘packs quite a wallop’: Creators set the stage for ‘high-calorie, dense episodes’ (exclusive)
Audiences will no doubt have intense reactions to the events of season 2, but it’s difficult for the pair to actually talk about what that story entails. Nearly everything could be considered a spoiler. For context, when Naughty Dog released trailers to promote the Part II video game, the studio edited out characters from certain scenes to preserve the surprises. They’re not quite doing that this time around, but every scene that appears in a teaser for season 2 was surgically carved out. And a lot of it has to do with a new character named Abby.
Abby isn’t alone, either. Among her crew are Owen (Spencer Lord), a gentle soul and Abby’s closest friend; Mel (Ariela Barer), a doctor and Owen’s girlfriend; Nora (Tati Gabrielle), a military medic; and Manny (Danny Ramirez), a loyal soldier — all of whom struggle with their own past sins and traumas.

Tantoo Cardinal narrates new documentary series ‘Water Worlds.’
Water Worlds is currently available to view on APTN’s ‘lumi’ and will debut on APTN on January 9th in both Cree and English.
From APTN:
Experience breathtaking underwater worlds across Canada’s oceans, lakes and wetlands in Water Worlds, a documentary series that delves into our planet’s fragile aquatic ecosystems from an Indigenous perspective. Narrated in Cree by the acclaimed Cree actor Tantoo Cardinal, Water Worlds brings the two-eyed seeing approach to life — combining the wisdom of Indigenous knowledge with the insights of Western science. This unique vision, of seeing with both eyes for the benefit of all, guides us through each story in the series.
From the Vancouver Sun:
The series is narrated in both English and Cree by iconic Cree-Metis actor Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Echo, Dances with Wolves). Cardinal, who grew up in Anzac, Alta., near Fort McMurray, grew up with her grandmother who spoke Cree in the house. But Cardinal says she was discouraged against speaking the language outside of the home. So, when they reached out to her to do this project and to do it in her native Cree, the veteran actor jumped on board.
“I was discouraged from speaking it, so I never had confidence in my sentence structure or the sophistication of my words,” said Cardinal, who worked with Cree speakers during the project. “We did have interpreters, and then I was able to voice the Cree, and so much was enlivened. Words that I didn’t know still existed in my head. There was a lot of Cree that was sitting around in my head that had a chance to be remembered.”

We look forward to seeing ‘Good Bad Things’ on streaming services in 2025, with our Brett Dier as Jason.
From Deadline:
EXCLUSIVE: Music Box Films has acquired North American distribution rights to director Shane D. Stanger’s Good Bad Things, starring Jessica Parker Kennedy (The Flash), Brett Dier (Jane The Virgin) and Danny Kurtzman.
The film, which will be released on digital platforms on February 4, 2025, was programmed in the Slamdance Unstoppable section, the showcase of films made by filmmakers with visible and non-visible disabilities.
Good Bad Things was awarded both the Slamdance Unstoppable Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award and screened as the closing night film of the ReelAbilities film festival.
Co-written by lifelong friends Shane D. Stanger and Danny Kurtzman, the romantic comedy is about a young man with a physical disability, learning to be vulnerable by exploring new connections on a dating app, a story loosely inspired by co-writer and star Kurtzman’s life, living with muscular dystrophy.
The film was released theatrically in partnership with Suncatcher Productions, screening at 50+ AMC Theatres in August. Following the VOD release, Music Box Films will also create physical assets to be released in 2025.
Good Bad Things sees Kurtzman star as Danny, a young entrepreneur with muscular dystrophy who is disillusioned by failed relationships. When Danny and his best friend Jason (Brett Dier) plan to pitch their agency to a dating app, Danny decides to step out of his comfort zone and explore the world of online dating, in part for research. An unexpected match with Madi (Jessica Parker Kennedy), an enigmatic photographer, challenges him to be vulnerable and sparks a journey of self-acceptance and discovery.
